University-level physiotherapy programmes in India and the Philippines are often strongly focused on medical and clinical education. Students acquire extensive knowledge in anatomy, pathology, rehabilitation, and evidence-based therapy and complete numerous clinical placements.
In Tunisia, training is also provided at university level. Depending on the university, different areas may be emphasised, such as rehabilitation, musculoskeletal therapy, or sports physiotherapy.

| 3-year vocational training programme (partly also available as a bachelor’s degree) | Approx. 4-year bachelor’s degree | 4–5-year bachelor’s degree | 3-year university education |
One characteristic of occupational therapy training in Germany is the use of different materials, such as wood, clay, or textiles, as therapeutic media. International professionals should be open to these methods, as they are frequently used in Germany.
Because occupational therapists communicate intensively with patients, a high level of German proficiency (at least B2) is particularly important for professional qualification recognition and everyday work.
Physiotherapists and occupational therapists already bring extensive medical knowledge, clinical experience, and a patient-centred approach to their work.
These skills can often make it easier to enter the qualification recognition process to become a qualified nurse.
After successfully completing the qualification recognition process, these professionals can provide particular value in areas such as:
Through their therapeutic training, many candidates have additional skills in mobilisation, rehabilitation, and interprofessional collaboration, which can be a valuable addition to nursing teams.
International physiotherapists and occupational therapists represent an interesting pool of skilled professionals for German healthcare facilities.
Although training pathways differ between Germany and our countries of origin, many international professionals have strong academic and clinical qualifications. After successfully completing the qualification recognition process and acquiring the required German language skills, they can contribute their expertise effectively within German healthcare facilities.
CWC Recruitment supports healthcare professionals throughout the entire qualification recognition process and helps healthcare facilities successfully integrate qualified international talent.
